This sheltered backyard offers a refined space for entertainment and leisure activity, and was built to reflect the quality and classic tastes of its owners.
Vision
These North York homeowners approached the Partridge team looking for help maximizing the use of their large backyard space. They were seeking a comfortable entertainment area that would be suitable for most seasons and cater to their family’s active lifestyle.
Design Features
Our design provided functional areas for relaxation and play that were balanced with a sense of style and refinement.
The design featured a custom, three-season cabana, complete with an outdoor kitchen, bar, fireplace, bug screen, and entertainment system. It also included a change room and bathroom to service the adjacent pool and hot tub. The inground pool is flanked by tasteful composite decking with loungers, a hot tub, and a natural stone wall water feature. A full-sized sports court is separated from the pool by an open section of lawn.
CHALLENGES
Our design needed to accommodate the various elements from the client’s wishlist, while fitting against the backdrop of mature trees around the property and preserving the yard’s sense of openness.
In order to accomplish these goals, the lawn was strategically incorporated to preserve space between the pool and sporting court. Meanwhile, the dining and lounge areas were built naturally into the design of the cabana to check off the wishlist items and to create a comfortable gathering place for guests.
